As part of our long-standing partnership with the UK Tea Academy, (UKTA) we’re elevating tea education by integrating essential modules on water quality, a vital yet often overlooked element in the tea-making process.
Why Water Matters in Tea
Water makes up 99% of every cup of tea, and its quality significantly impacts the taste, aroma, and clarity of the final brew. Whether brewing a robust black tea or a delicate green, pure water allows the true character of the tea to shine.
BRITA’s advanced filtration technology reduces Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), chlorine, and other impurities that can negatively affect flavour, ensuring the perfect balance for a full-flavoured brew.
BRITA is contributing to the UKTA’s new Tea Essentials Award, an introductory, self-guided course designed to teach learners the fundamentals of tea. A key feature of this course is the “Why Water Matters” module, which will explain how high-quality, filtered water enhances how tea’s flavour and experience. With simple, accessible guidance, this unit will highlight how BRITA’s technology helps achieve the best results.
For those pursuing more advanced qualifications, such as the Tea Sommelier or Tea Specialist Diplomas, water-related education will be an essential part of the curriculum. These courses will delve deeper into how water quality influences tea, empowering both casual tea lovers and hospitality professionals to elevate their tea-making skills.
Showcasing Innovation: Introducing the BRITA Cube at The Leafies
At this years Leafies awards, BRITA we will showcase our latest innovation: the BRITA Cube, – a compact instant water dispenser with cutting-edge UV-C light technology which removes 99.999% of bacteria for ultimate water purity. With five temperature settings, ranging from 45 -95 degrees and MAXTRA PRO filtration, it delivers fresh, great-tasting water every time no matter what tea you are brewing, all at the touch of a button with no mains required.
