Immerse yourself in blind tea-tastings, captivating stories, quizzes, and team challenges that will test your tasting skills. As you explore the different categories of green, black, white and oolong tea, the day will boost your confidence in tea knowledge and may ignite a lifelong passion for exploring teas from all over the world.

WHO IS IT FOR?

The day is designed for anyone new to learning about tea. From tea enthusiasts to hospitality professionals keen to talk with greater confidence when advising guests and customers on their choice of tea.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

The fundamental facts about tea: where it grows, how it is processed from plucked leaf to cup, the different categories of tea, why loose leaf tea is generally better and why it is considered beneficial for your health. Crucially you will understand how to get the best from the leaf and make better tea.  

ARE THERE ANY ENTRY REQUIREMENTS?

This one-day course is open to everyone. No previous experience is required, just plenty of enthusiasm to develop your understanding of tea.

ABOUT THE TUTOR

The course is led by Carri Hecks  who came to the world of fine tea by way of Petersham Nurseries. She has great in-depth knowledge of tea and is the established Head Brewer for the UKTA and the Great Taste Awards.

WHAT NEXT?

If you want to continue your tea learning after attending this course, you will be eligible to move on to World Tea Diploma or Tea Sommelier Hospitality, depending on your motivation and interest.
